Wallace Falls - GWHWA
Hi everyone! Long time no talk. Since the beginning of 2019 I’ve been quite the busy little duckling trying to tackle my last semester of grad school (I graduated with a 4.0 a week ago woohoo!) on top of my responsibilities towards a huge family medical situation (which I will detail in a blog later this year). And to add to that, I had the pleasure of being selected as a 2019 ambassador for two awesome organizations: Girls Who Hike and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series.
As part of my responsibility as a Washington ambassador for Girls Who Hike (GWHWA), I host monthly hikes on top of happy hours, book club meetings, and other fun events with all individuals who identify as female. Any other Washingtonians who are interested in getting to know more about us, come join our Facebook group (Washington Chapter) where we post the most up-to-date info on our events. There is a group for every state in the U.S., so be sure to check out the website to find your chapter.
My first hike for 2019 was back in January. Most of our trails are covered in snow at that time, so we stuck to a lower elevation hike that was still somewhat difficult for our winter bodies after the holidays (I’m mostly speaking for myself here). We lucked out an had a full day of SUNSHINE, which made winter hiking even better.
Here are the details of the hike:
