Egypt - Day 5

Slept in, woke up at 7AM, got ready, ate breakfast, then went to see the unfinished obelisk, the Aswan high dam, Lake Nasser, a parfumerie, and a papyrus factory. Came back, had lunch, cried (because I didn't have enough cash for the trip to the Nubian village). Maybe if they told us that there would be additional excursions not mentioned on their website, I would have come prepared! I am pissed that they didn't even hint at it (even in their recommended amount to bring), and I'm also upset that I didn't even bring my debit cards. I'm embarrassed that I am short on money and everyone knows. They're going to the Nubian village now and won't be back until around 8PM for dinner, so I'm on my own until then, and it's only 2:30PM...

I decided to take a nap, but woke up to [name] calling me name and she told me that she talked the ferry driver into letting me go for free. So I did. I went on a 30-minute boat ride (ate Aswan peanuts and saw a really cool tree!) and saw huge camels, ate Nubian bread with cheese sauce (doenjang tasting stuff), and a black sauce made out of crushed sesame and molasses. I also drank hot hibiscus tea, held a baby alligator, climbed (halfway) up a vertical sand dune, and waded into the Nile! Now it's off to dinner, then there's a belly dancer tonight!
