Egypt Diary: Day 1
In 2010, I went on my first semi-solo trip to Egypt. I say semi-solo because I didn't know anyone going into this adventure, but I joined a group and was not alone during the duration of the trip. I recently dug up an old journal and found little diary entries that I wrote, briefly documenting the highlights of each day of the trip along with notes on what I ate.
Keep in mind that I was 19 years old at the time, and this was my first international trip as an adult. As much as I'd like to elaborate and edit the text for blog purposes, I will keep each entry as-is and will not make any adjustments to the texts, except for blocking out the names of my travel companions for privacy purposes.
Egypt - Day 1
Left for the airport at around 11AM, flight for Frankfurt departed at 2:15PM. Sat next to [name]! She is also from Seattle going to Egypt. Landed in Frankfurt (via Luftansa) at 10AM and had a 6-hour layover. Took a nap on the benches, exchanged some money, and found a smoking zone! Egypt Air was delayed so +1 hour. Finally arrived in Cairo at 9:30PM! Crazy bus drive home. Checked into the hotel room and went to the welcome dinner. BED!
