Egypt - Day 3

MAN! AWESOME DAY!
Had a little incident regarding sleep, but other than that it was jam-packed (and HOT!). After the horse and carriage ride I took a shower and went to sleep at around 1:30AM. I woke up at 2:30AM and for some reason counted back to home time (4:30AM) and jumped out of bed like a ninja and swung open the door to see [name] and her boyfriend talking and I ask: "AREN'T WE SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE LOBBY IN LIKE 15 MINUTES?!" Both of them were confused and said it was only 2:30AM, much to my embarrassment. So I went back to sleep at woke up 4:00AM, got ready, then headed out to take a "ferry" in the dark.

We had coffee and dream cake and arrived at the West Bank. We then transferred to a bus and drove to the field where hot air balloons were being prepared. Our group was divided in two: a group of 7 and a group of 15, which I was in. We got into the baskets and they started flaming it, and boy you've probably never experienced hot unless you've been under the flame of a hot air balloon... in Egypt. BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT!

I loved every minute of the ride, it was beautiful. We saw the Temple of Hatsheput, Karnak, and even saw the run rise behind the Nile. Post (interesting) landing in a sugar cane field, we got t-shirts and a certificate saying we ballooned up to 17,000 feet in the West Nile. How awesome!

After that we met up with the group and got breakfast boxes and headed to the Valley of the Kings. Saw Ramses' tomb, Thutmoses'   tomb, and almost died of heat! I was sweating like I was in a sauna (that's how hot the tombs were), and we took the tuk-tuk back to the bus, where we proceeded to Hatsheput's temple (cool!) and then went to an alabaster shop where I got a cool vase.

After that we went to the Temple of Karnak and I think we all collapsed due to the incredible heat! Then FINALLY we were on our way back to the bus which took us to Sinbad where we had lunch. Now it's free time!

Tonight we'll have tea and dinner and a disco.

P.S. - WENT THROUGH THE LOCKS
