Low Fat Pre-Workout Snack
I'm back with another apple recipe! Okay, it's not really a recipe, but just a great low-fat snack to munch on before heading to the gym, or even just an easy midday snack.
I've been on a Honeycrisp apple kick lately - I've probably eaten at least 29 in the last month. I say 29 because I've basically had one a day for quite a long time.
My last apple snack was a higher fat option, but still very healthy as long as you don't go overboard with what you consider to be an actual "tablespoon" of peanut butter.
You'll need three simple ingredients:
- 1 Apple (May I suggest Honeycrisp?)
- 1/2 cup Low Fat Cottage Cheese (I use Daisy brand)
- Cinnamon to taste
You can slice the apples any way you like, and put the cottage cheese into a small bowl. Sprinkle cinnamon on top of the cottage cheese and apples, adding a nice touch of flavor while also giving you a nice antioxidant punch.
The whole snack is 200 Calories, 35g Carbs, 3g Fat, and 14g Protein
