WOW #6 (Cardio)
It's already Monday! And it's the second Monday of 2018 - how many of you are ready to get this week going?! This week's workout is focused on getting a good sweat on, and the only piece of equipment you'll need is the Stair Climber. Not the stepper, but the actual revolving staircase.
Time: 30 Minutes
Equipment: Stair Climber
*Note: I will put sample speeds based on what I do at my home gym - please adjust to your ability and your equipment.
00:00 - 05:00 Warm Up @ Level 5
05:00 - 15:00 Intervals (20-30 seconds @ Level 10+, 30-40 seconds @ Level 5)
15:00 - 25:00 Side Steps w/ Optional Kick or Swing (Level 2-4**)
**Lower the speed so that you can focus on squeezing your glutes while you step. For added difficulty, keep your knees bent to do side squats
25:00 - 30:00 Pyramid Cool Down (Start at level 7 and decrease one level each minute of your cool down. So minute 25 @ 7, 26 @ 6, 27 @ 5, 28 @ 4, 29 @ 3)
There you have it! A simple but effective cardio workout that (hopefully) won't make the Stair Climber seem nearly as intimidating!
